Asscher cut diamonds are step cut diamonds. Similar to the emerald cut, they have long rectangular faces that create a hall of mirror effect, however they are square instead of rectangular.
The large open table of an Asscher cut diamond means that any inclusions will be easily noticeable. Therefore, choose an Asscher cut diamond with a VS2 clarity grade or higher. However, a larger diamond will need an even higher clarity grade since inclusions will be more obvious on a larger stone.
Ring Style
Sidestone engagement rings are one of the most popular setting styles at Ritani. This style features feature smaller diamonds in the band for added artistry and sparkle. Sidestone engagement rings pair beautifully with all diamond shapes, but look especially stunning with emerald-cut diamonds or Asscher-cut diamonds. French-set diamonds are diamonds that are raised, allowing extra light to enter the stone, and are set with tiny beads of metal. Pavé diamonds look like they are paved into the band and are set with tiny points of metal. Micropavé diamonds are set the same way, but with smaller clusters of diamonds set closer together. Channel-set diamonds are the most secure - they are held within a metal channel.
