Actor Brian Austin Green is Engaged to 'Dancing with the Stars' Performer Sharna Burgess

After welcoming their first child, Zane Walker, in June 2022, actor Brian Austin Green and Australian professional ballroom dancer Sharna Burgess have taken their relationship to the next level after three years together. The couple revealed their engagement news on an episode of the iHeartRadio podcast, Old-ish. During the podcast, Burgess, age 38, explained that they had been engaged for two months but chose to keep it under wraps. Green, age 50, had proposed during a surprise birthday celebration that Burgess had organized in June, as he explained to podcast host Randy Spelling.

The Proposal

During Green's birthday party, later in the evening, Green told Burgess he had something to share with her upstairs. Initially, Burgess had some concerns, but once he guided her into their bedroom, she started to sense that it was a significant moment. Green gathered his children, including his 7-year-old son, Journey River, Green's child from his previous marriage to Megan Fox, who held a red Cartier box. With his son by his side, the actor proceeded to take the box, and as he revealed an impressive diamond engagement ring, he posed a question to Burgess: "Will you spend the rest of your life with us?" she recounted. She explained that she excitedly said yes and emphasized that it was an exceptionally ideal and beautiful moment, mainly because the children were part of it. Green also has sons named Noah Shannon (10) and Bodhi Ransom (9) with Megan Fox, as well as a son, Kassius Lijah (21), from a previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil. During his discussion with the podcast host, Green said that he sees his engagement as the beginning of the "second half" of his life, and he wanted the kids to be involved because they're a part of every aspect of his life.

The couple's engagement announcement on Instagram also included the children, as Burgess posted a video featuring Noah, Bodhi, Journey, and Zane placing their hands on top of Green's hand. Toward the end of the video, Burgess joined in by adding her hand to show her engagement ring.

How Did They Meet?

Burgess and Green were introduced by their mutual business manager in October of 2020, and their first connection happened over a cup of coffee. Although sparks flew, as later disclosed by the Beverly Hills 90210 actor, they initially had different expectations. At the time, Green wasn't seeking a relationship following his separation from his wife of nearly 10 years, Megan Fox, while Burgess, on the contrary, was searching for something stable. Nevertheless, as Green explained, their chemistry was undeniable, and they officially announced their relationship on Instagram in January 2021.

The pair marked their debut on Dancing with the Stars during the premiere of the 30th season in September 2021, sealing their first routine with a kiss. Following their partnership on season 30 of Dancing with the Stars, they received surprising news after their elimination in week 4—they were expecting their first child. Burgess gave birth to their son Zane Walker Green on June 28, 2022.
