French-set diamonds are small diamonds raised with tiny prongs around the ring band. The look creates the effect of a single, continuous line of sparkle. French-set bands often have more sparkle than any other type of diamond band, since they allow the most light to enter the diamonds.
The style was popularized in the 1920s, as part of the art deco fine jewelry trend. A new technique at the time, it was used to make jewelry look more dazzling and luxurious.
Diamonds can be French-set along the band or as a halo surrounding the center stone. Some of our best-selling styles feature French-set diamonds!
