‘The Bachelorette’ Star Charity Lawson is Engaged — Check Out Her Oval-Cut Diamond Sparkler!

The Bachelorette reality TV show franchise just wrapped up its 20th season with an incredible proposal! The finale of the recent season of The Bachelorette took place in Fiji, which concluded with the current 'Bachelorette', Charity Lawson, being proposed to by the man she chose out of the 25 contestants vying for her affection, Nigerian-American Dotun Olubeko. Dotun dropped to one knee and presented Charity with a magnificent oval-cut engagement ring, asking her to marry him. After saying yes and kissing him, Lawson sealed the deal by giving him her final rose. Although Charity excitedly accepted Dotun Olubeko’s proposal, she gave an emotional farewell to her runner-up contestant, Joey Graziadei, who has since been named the next leading man for the upcoming season 28 of The Bachelor. 

About Charity Lawson 

Charity Lawson, a child and family therapist from Columbus, Georgia, earned a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Auburn University. Beaming with confidence and an infectious smile while showing compassion for helping others, the 27-year-old endeared herself to viewers during season 27 of The Bachelor. During her time on the show, Lawson showed that she was willing to try anything in her search for love while offering kind support to those around her. In her exit from the show, she made her intention to find love crystal clear, cementing her place in the trust of Bachelor Nation. During her time on The Bachelorette, Lawson was motivated to find a life partner who shares her love for dogs, her passion for thrifting, and her enthusiasm for tailgating. ​About Dotun Olubeko

Dotun, a Nigerian-American, first came to the U.S. at age 4 and currently lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. In his Bachelorette intro video, he delved into his background, revealing that when his family arrived in the U.S., they had very little. His parents diligently took on available jobs, eventually leading them to success and providing him with a happy life. He expressed that their experience was humbling. Dotun was raised in Fresno, California, and ran track at Chico State University. With his strong passion for health and fitness, Dotun earned a bachelor's degree in nutrition and food science and then pursued a master's degree in human nutrition and functional medicine. Dotun is also the driving force behind DPT Fitness, an online business he founded in 2020 dedicated to promoting health and wellness services. In addition to his online pursuits, he currently works as an Integrative Medicine Consultant. With his vibrant enthusiasm for life, he once took a spontaneous 45-day trip around Europe and has said that he aspires to find a future wife who shares his passion for adventure and an appreciation for life's simple moments.   

Charity Lawson's Magnificent Oval-Cut Diamond Engagement Ring

In preparation for his proposal to Charity Lawson on the August 21st season finale of The Bachelorette, Dotun Olubeko sought advice from Neil Lane, a jeweler closely associated with Bachelor Nation, to select an engagement ring Charity would adore. Despite admitting a lack of knowledge about engagement rings, Dotun knew he had found the perfect ring for Charity when Lane presented a specific oval-cut sparkler. Ultimately, Dotun selected a 3-carat oval-cut diamond ring set on a platinum band embellished with 50 round-cut diamonds. Upon opening the ring box, Charity was equally thrilled and astonished by how perfectly it suited her taste, explaining that her fiancé did a “10 out of 10 job” in choosing her ring. Nevertheless, Charity and Dotun have yet to finalize their choice of wedding bands. Charity disclosed that while they haven't set a specific wedding date, they would prefer to avoid a prolonged engagement. As for a potential wedding date, they are considering 2025 or 2026.
