Actress Yvette Nicole Brown Announced Her Engagement While Guest Co-Hosting on The View

While guest co-hosting a recent episode of The View, Yvette Nicole Brown, the 52-year-old star of the sitcom Community, announced that she was engaged while proudly showing her exquisite oval-cut diamond engagement ring. After announcing her engagement, Brown introduced her fiancé, actor Anthony Davis, who was in the audience. Brown told the audience they met in their 20s while taking an acting class at church. Initially, the pair were platonic friends. They lost touch for several years and eventually reconnected after Davis reached out to Brown following the death of her mother and his divorce. The Emmy-nominated actress, who described her fiancé to the audience as a "nice, kind, loving man,” believes that their reunion was orchestrated by their late mothers. Davis then called his fiancée "the most beautiful person in the world."

The Proposal

Brown shared the story of Davis’ heartwarming, surprise proposal during a visit to her hometown in Ohio, where they attended a party celebrating the naming of her high school’s auditorium in her honor. That evening, Davis gave Brown a lottery scratch card that read, "Will you marry me?" Jokingly, Brown said, "I thought I was going to win some money, and I won a man!"​
